Garrett embarked on his journey with the MGS team back in early 2021, dedicating his time to the Triage Project. Since then, he’s been a versatile member, diving into various roles aimed at validating, updating, and mapping our state’s water well database. Garrett has served the role of assistant project manager, where he lead location validation, mapping, and programming efforts. Beyond project management, Garrett has been instrumental in driving education and outreach initiatives, actively engaging in in-person events and crafting compelling content for the team’s YouTube channel.

Now, Garrett has transitioned into a full-time role with MGS as the Lower Peninsula Geoscience Specialist. His responsibilities include core logging, monitor well installation, geophysical surveying, mapping, and geologic interpretations, alongside providing valuable support to ongoing research endeavors. Garrett has constructed unique data collection methods and procedures and is currently spearheading our ArcPro 3D geologic modeling efforts.

In his free time, Garrett enjoys spending time outside, hiking Michigan’s scenic trails and going backcountry backpacking with his dog.
