Nathan Erber is a Senior Research Associate at the Michigan Geological Survey (MGS) at Western Michigan University. His research interests include glacial geology, geomorphology, and environmental geology. Nathan focuses on mapping glacial geology throughout Michigan under the United States Geological Survey STATEMAP program and Great Lakes Geologic Mapping Coalition. These mapping efforts aim to further the understanding of ice-lobe dynamics in Michigan during the last glaciation, glacial landforms and stratigraphy, and groundwater and aggregate resources.

Before joining the MGS, Nathan was a Senior Geologist at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), working to provide geologic oversight of corrective action and permitting activities for hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities. Before his time at EGLE, Nathan worked at the Ohio Geological Survey, where his primary role was mapping glacial geology throughout Ohio.
