Western Michigan University is set to break ground this Friday on a new $8 million geology facility for the Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education (MGRRE). The repository will relocate to WMU’s Parkview Campus, where the new building will house the state’s largest collection of geological samples and data. It will also provide dedicated research space for faculty and students—something the current rented facility lacks.
